Abandoning hope

Giving up hope can be the start of a new direction

Text and drawing by Frits Ahlefeldt

“As long as their is hope — there is…” There is what? — Procrastination? — Inaction? — Delay? I wonder looking at a cue to the weekly lottery with the lucky winner walking away with millions, the rest staying in the cue.

It can be challenging to face the alternative, the hopelessness, the darkness of the night, the thought that maybe nobody or nothing is going to come to the rescue. Maybe that lottery is not the answer, maybe abandoning hope is sometimes better than inaction…
